This weeks project is “clean” and not very polished, but it’s time to start something else.

A few words on this confusing cycle… it was one of those ideas you envision just before falling asleep. And I always regret not writing such ideas down.

Today I recieved a long awaited package, contaning this:”Published in 1935, the Secret Museum is a mystery book. It has no author or credits, no copyright, no date, no page numbers, no index. Published by “Manhattan House” and sold by “Metro Publications”, both of New York, its “Five Volumes in One” was pure hype: it had never been released in any other form.”

Is what I first read about this book here. Which now you can read online in that same link… Either way, this very item has had a place in my heart ever since I first heard of it, and now that I posses a copy, I couldnt be happier…

It’s not impossible to justify why I haven’t been posting for the past few weeks or I don’t even know how long but it was not lazyness… So to compensate (and avoid explaining) here’s a gif I am working on. Thoughts?

It’s all the keys and breakdowns, I had trouble working out the timing in photoshop… I need x-sheets (I’ll have to improvise)… but I’m hoping to have it fully inbetweened by tomorrow evening.

Bear in mind I animated 80% of this in the street with the aid of an easel:

Using recycled punched strips of animation paper taped to regular paper.

The wind is a fierce test of patience, blowing against my bottom-pegs-flipping action.

So I tried that photoshop thing… and I like it a lot and instead of “aggressively acquiring it” I am paying for it month by month for an entire year.

I strongly recommend doing that.

I cleaned up a sketch I posted last year, so have no mercy.

Captain's log 15-Jan-2013: Handyman day

The sun shines in the desert that I’m currently stationed at. The winter barely makes itself noticed, lest at night when cold makes you want to go to pee but your bed is so warm is hard to leave it.

Today, my patience was invested in a lot of constructive sort of activities, like installing a new bookshelf and taming the mess that resides everywhere on my work space. I also added a large upshot of an ominous roof of a partially ruined structure.

I also carved a head for my walking stick:

And learnt a secret skill of fire. Welding copper tubes.

My left thumb suffered a severe stab with an exacto knife… carelessly opening the packing of a new saw.

Deep fucking wound, there was blood everywhere.

Also not a lot of drawing recently. Lot’s of reading, and movie-watching action though.

I sent a letter a few weeks ago to my dear friend Dina, she’s serbian but lives in Slovenia.

I wrote it all in spanish, because she is amazing and speaks like 6 languages (including mine). I also sent her a sketch of a nun kicking a baby in a suit because that’s what real letters are for.

Also I have a horrifying handwriting.

Finally back home, found a new place to sketch with other artists, among them, Master Sepúlveda, who I have posted about in a couple of occasions.

About the image I share today, it was inspired in a woman who walked by, I liked how the hair flowed and the elaborated and re-interpreted the impression that she left on me.

My color choice is entirely based on the 4 wax markers I brought along with me: Blue, Red Black & White.

Have no mercy.

And that’s an order.
